HEATHER HOBBS - DEPUTY SHERIFF - COURT SERVICES / PATROL / TRUANCY - MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - 7 YEARS

I have been employed with the Sheriff’s Office for almost 7 years now. I started as a detention officer in the jail when Major Craig Allison was the jail administrator for Sheriff Bob Davis. I observed Craig to treat inmates with respect and fairness, a philosophy I wanted to adopt for myself. I learned from Craig, that the event in which I would come into contact with a person, no matter what their actions were, especially if their interaction with me was negative, shouldn't dictate the way I treated them in the future.

Craig has extensive experience running a detention center, is skilled at finances, and strives to build good relationships with his personnel to ensure a productive work environment.

Craig has talked numerous times of his love for the county, its citizens, and his desire to see the community get to know his officers. We are encouraged by Craig to do community out reach, instruct programs and collect resources that will enrich our service. Craig recognizes each deputy/detention officer has a unique personality and utilizes them for different various aspects of law enforcement. Craig was a avid supporter for my event 4 years ago to promote mental health awareness, suicide, prevention and anti bullying. Craig also makes the security of our schools a priority and wants to increase our presence. Building on the working relationships we have with educators is another priority of Craig’s as well. Craig has always seen the importance in my duty as truancy officer and the benefits of officer contact with struggling families.

Craig also knows drug interdiction is important to protect the community in the immediate but has the foresight that in order to make a community healthy, his officers have to be knowledgeable about the resources available and how to access them. Craig understands the problem doesn’t end with a drug charge, even conviction, if you don’t address the issues causing addiction. Craig believes that services applied will prevent recidivism once an individual is released from custody. This, making the community safer.

Craig provides an atmosphere for me that is cohesive to my values, he has a strong faith, and believes we must be diligent in our duties to protect without violating the rights of our citizens to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe in Craig’s leadership wholeheartedly! Please vote for Craig Allison for Sheriff on August 4th!
